Consumer Tips
Keep in mind that your body changes over time so the need for adequate comfort and support will increase as you age.
A good quality mattress should distribute pressure evenly.
On average, a good quality spring mattress should last approximately 7-10 years and memory foam models between 10-20 years.
Try out a mattress before purchasing to see whether a soft, medium or hard mattress suits you best.
Before buying, always keep in mind the size of the bed and ideally purchase a mattress that is about 5 inches bigger than the tallest person that will use it.
Mattresses should be placed on a firm base to prevent sagging.
It is not ideal to use a new mattress with an old base as it may not be properly equipped to support the mattress.
You need a new mattress when it doesn’t feel supportive anymore and when it starts sagging or springs start protruding.
